About Meghan
My interest in bodywork and energy healing as an alternative to the western, symptoms and profits based medical establishment came while I was a senior in high school in 2000 by the exposure to the book, “The Essential Reiki”, written by Diane Stein. This first introduced me to the concept that our bodies are made of energy and that each person has the ability to heal themselves and help others heal and balance in gentle, pleasurable, and holistic ways. I promptly found a Reiki Master located near my hometown of Holland, MI to take my first Reiki class and receive an attunement for Reiki level 1 at that time.

In 2001 I moved to Eugene, OR with the initial intention to study towards an Environmental Studies degree at the University of Oregon. After six months of classes that created a feeling of frustration towards the dire state of environmental destruction and the realization that I was likely getting into a career where I would be fighting a severely broken system day after day, I decided to focus my attention instead back to my interests in the natural healing arts. I felt and still do feel it is important that the ways in which I focus my time in life, in my passions and career, be in ways that could improve the lives of individuals and keep me centered in a healing, compassionate, and loving space. In January 2004, I passed my national and state board exams and was granted a massage therapy license after completing the massage program at Lane Community College, also in Eugene.
Since my initial license date, I have jumped into the world of alternative therapies with gusto and glee – a world where I am never stagnant and where there is always more to learn, sense, and understand! I have taken a variety of courses by qualified and inspiring instructors to learn the modalities of Therapeutic Deep Tissue, Soft Tissue Release, Lomi’ili’ili (Hawaiian Hot Stone Massage), Raindrop and Aroma Touch essential oil treatments, Alco Chan’s Body Optimization Method, and Craniosacral Therapy Level 1. Reiki remains a constant in my life and practice. I became a Reiki Master Teacher in August 2007. I look forward to teaching Reiki classes and attuning more and more people to increase the population of people who are empowered to be in charge of their own well being through the simple technique. Class locations and times will be posted on this site and are on-going – stay tuned!
I have experience working with a wide range of clientele including but not limited to professional athletes, marathon runners, Realtors, people who sit at desks and use computers much of the day, contractors, students, business owners, motor vehicle accident victims, and geriatric clients. I have worked in varied environments like a chiropractor’s office, multiple local day spas, and festivals, with my private practice always a constant. I am part of the the Magic Hands booth #202 at the annual Oregon Country Fair which occurs the second weekend in July outside of Eugene in Veneta, OR. I welcome clients suffering a range of symptoms and who have a range of shapes, personalities, ages, and backgrounds. Mostly I hope to work with people who are ready and willing to take charge and responsibility for their health and well being; I am here to help through bodywork and education.
While intending to stay present, I am looking to the future and where my practice and interests may take me. I attended Doula training last Spring and may work in the realm of conscious childbirth in the future after I complete my certification study, while still maintaining my private massage practice. I also attended a firewalking practitioner training in May 09, and lead my first firewalk in April 10′ with more to come. One of the traits that define me is my wide range of interests – I am never bored! I listen to my intuition and am open to try out new techniques and areas of study. I approach my own life as well as my healing practice on a holistic level where the opening and converging of the physical body, the mind, the emotions, and the spirit can be united.
I have a serene, private, and quiet home office in southwest Eugene where I live with my cat, Falcor, who may cheerfully greet you outside. Some of my other loves in life include hiking and backpacking, international travel and road trips, learning, organic food, localized economies, cleansing fasts, fine dining, dancing, attending conscious gatherings, yoga, drumming, practicing classical guitar, meditation, quantum physics, NLP and hypnotherapy, creating art, human and planetary evolution, dream-time exploration, personal freedom, and connecting with like minded friends and individuals.

Falcor!
